Acciona Cultura has recently delivered the technical development and museographic implementation for the Lusail Museum: Tales of a Connected World exhibition for Qatar Museums (QM).

Located in the heart of Doha at the Qatar Museums Gallery - Al Riwaq, the Lusail exhibition explores cultural interactions between the greater MENA (Middle East North Africa) region and its peripheries, Europe, Central and East Africa, and Central, South and East Asia.

Acciona Cultura’s work includes the technical development, project management, fit-out, graphics, media productions, showcases, lighting, prototyping and testing, exhibition fabrication, object mounting, maintenance and assembly and dismantling of the exhibition, which occupies a total area of 2,800 sq m.

The exposition will excite visitors about the forthcoming Lusail Museum, currently under development, showcasing a world-class collection of Orientalist art, archaeological artefacts and media from antiquity to the 21st century, said Daniel Orti, Acciona Cultura ME Director.

The 237 artefacts displayed at the exhibition represent a large collection of paintings on canvas, jewellery, tapestries, costumes, film props, books, manuscripts, photographs, decorated ceramics, glass, and metal. The artefacts are combined with almost 60 audiovisual and interactive resources that support the narrative and allow visitors to approach and interact with the objects.

The works carried out by Acciona Cultura cover the six different spaces of the Lusail exhibition: Uncovering Orientalism; Cleopatra; Desert; the Delacroix’s Gaze; Al-Hamidiyya Souq; and Journeys. Through each gallery, the exhibition explores the role of art, exchange and ideas in the transformation of cultural representations from the pre-Islamic period to the present day, showcasing some of the big ideas, building anticipation and helping to shape thinking for the new museum.

“I can say very proudly that we have a strong presence in the museums, exhibitions and events sector in this country, with outstanding works such as the design, development and execution of 150 media productions for the National Museum of Qatar; the museum development and implementation of Msheireb Museums, and the production of various temporary exhibitions for Doha's Museum of Islamic Art and the Orientalist Museum,” said Orti.

“With 32 years of experience, we stand out for our specialisation in cultural projects, meaning to highlight and promote culture and history using the most innovative technologies as well as social innovation and sustainable development,” Orti said.

Last April, the company delivered, together with its local partner UCC as a joint venture, the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, the world's largest museum dedicated to Olympics and sports.
It is an international centre for sports history, heritage and knowledge. Some 95 companies and more than 700 people from 23 nationalities were involved in delivering the museum.

The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum occupies an area of 19,000 sq m, including a café, gift shop, members lounge, restaurant, congress area, library, auditorium, meeting rooms and eight galleries covering almost 9,000 sq m of exhibition space.

The museum traces the origins, development and significance of sports in Qatar and the rest of the world. It also seeks to promote the positive values of sports culture, Orti said. -TradeArabia News Service
