Mismak Properties, Shangri-La Group ink hotel management deal

UAE-based Mismak Properties has signed a new operating agreement with Shangri-La Group for the management of Shangri-La Hotel Dubai. Mismak Properties added the 42-storey tower on Sheikh Zayed Road to its property portfolio earlier in 2020 with the Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Group continuing to operate the hotel. Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai welcomes new executive chef

Shangri-La Hotel Dubai has appointed Nikolaos Tsimidakis as its new executive chef. Hailing from Greece Tsimidakis has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry with seven years experience in Dubai. His career has taken him around the globe with positions based in Europe Oceania and the US as well as a role with the Saudi royal family. He most recently held the positions of cluster executive sous chef at Intercontinental Dubai Festival City and executive chef at Nola Social House. Borja Molina has been appointed as the assistant director of food and beverage (F&B) for the Shangri-La Hotel and Traders Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Relocating from Spain Molina has more than eight years of hospitality expertise having worked with international hotel chains across Asia Europe and the Middle East. In his new role Molina will assist in planning directing and supervising all activities associated with the operations of the food and beverage division. New executive chef for Shangri-La Hotel and Traders Hotel

Reiner Lupfer has been appointed as the new executive chef at Shangri-La Hotel and Traders Hotel Qaryat Al Beri Abu Dhabi. Bringing more than two decades of culinary expertise to the luxury property Reiner gathered his culinary degree from Claude Dornier Hotel Management & Culinary Institute of Germany in 1999. At the age of 23 he was at the helm of Hotel Restaurant Heinzler when it was awarded 1 Michelin Star and 16 points in the Guild Gault Millau. The recognitions won Reiner his first overseas position as Chef Tournant in Bermuda followed by a stint as Chef de Cuisine in Scotland. Shangri-La plans first Indian hotel

Asia s leading luxury hotel group Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is to open its first hotel in India in New Delhi. The group will take over former Hotel Kanishka which is currently closed for a massive renovation costing over 30 million. Shangri-La has signed a new management agreement with Hotel Excelsior Private Limited a member of the Eros Group of India for the hotel. Shangri-La splits hotel operations

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has announced a restructuring with the creation of two divisions to be led by Al Wymann and Symon Bridle. As group directors of operations Wymann will be responsible for the group s hotels in the Chinese mainland and Bridle will oversee the remaining hotels in Asia Pacific as well as the two hotels due to open in Dubai in 2003. Wymann and Bridle who will both report to Giovanni Angelini the company s chief executive officer and managing director have worked for Shangri-La for more than 23 years and over 11 years respectively.
